This qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work, within industry who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
All successful students will be issued with an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification which is valid for a period of 3 years.
Topics covered include:
Incident Management, Casualty Head to Toe Survey, CPR, Minor Injuries, Major Illnesses, Head and Chest Injuries, Suspected Spinal Injuries, Burns and Scalds and Sudden Poisoning
The qualification is assessed via on-going oral questioning and practical demonstration.
Learners are required to be 16 years of age prior to certification. It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy.
This qualification consists of two mandatory units, which learners must complete successfully in order to achieve the qualification:
- Emergency First Aid in the Workplace
- Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace
Duration of course
This qualification is achieved through a 3-day class-room based training course and for re-qualification this is reduced to 2-days.
